Safta’s Sephardic Charoset for Passover
Passover is just around the corner and I wanted to share my Safta’s Charoset recipe with you! I’ve shared this recipe on my Instagram before but it deserved a permanent spot on the blog too!
Charoset is a sweet, dark, chunky paste made of fruits and nuts. My family follows more of the Sephardic traditions during the holidays and therefor our charoset is made with a base of dates, apples, nuts and wine! It’s delish and perfect to have all week long, Passover or not!
Safta and I can’t wait to hear your reviews, be sure to leave a comment below! 👵🏻💙✡️

Soften the dates by placing them in a glass bowl and pouring boiling water over them. Let them sit in the water for about 10 minutes.
Drain the dates & place them into the food processor along with the chopped apple, and walnuts. Process.
After a few minutes scrape down the sides with a spatula. Add the wine, cinnamon, agave nectar and process until the mixture is smooth.

Feel free to add more dates, agave, cinnamon, apples, and walnuts to the charoset to your taste. The charoset can last in the fridge for about 7-10 days.
