Milo’s Milk Lactation Cookies

It’s baby season & I’ve been getting a few requests for my lactation cookie recipe! I figured it’s time I share it with you all!

Let me preface by telling you that “regular” people have tasted & enjoyed them, husbands/doormen/friends alike! I’ll be honest, the brewer’s yeast is a weird ingredient for those who aren’t lactating but whatevs! I literally tried to fit all the ingredients that I found were good to increase supply in these cookies & that’s how they came to be!

Also, I originally made these for my friend Michal who had a low supply for her new baby Milo! So I call them Milo’s Milk Cookies! I can’t say for certain that they work but any mom that has tried them said they’re great for a filling snack when they were ravenous or wanted something hearty and or just to snack on!

Little secret: they go great with a schmear of nut butter or granola butter! Thank me later!

I N G R E D I E N T S (makes about 24 cookies)

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups gluten-free oats

  • 1/2 cup flax seed meal

  • 1/2 cup brewer’s yeast

  • 1/4 cup almond flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 teaspoons cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3 tbsps sesame seeds

  • 1/4 cup coconut shreds

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup sweet potato, mashed

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

I N S T R U C T I O N S

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Blend all wet ingredients in a blender or with hand mixer.

  3. Measure out dry ingredients & place in a large bowl.

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients & mix well.

  5. Using a ice cream scooper, scoop out cookie dough & then press down each cookie to flatten.

  6. Sprinkle each cookie with flakey sea salt.

  7. Bake for about 15 min.

  8. Let cool completely before storing & freezing.

  9. Let cookie thaw on counter for a few minutes before enjoying!
